Leather Guide

Care of Cowhide, Calfskin and Lambskin

If you have ordered an item in this type of leather, or if you already have something lying around, here is an easy and quick guide on how to best protect them.

  1. Wipe the bag with a dry cloth.

If it turns out that there is a lot of dirt on the bag, then take a slightly damp cloth and clean the bag.

  1. Then apply leather conditioner, but a sponge / cloth.

It is important to apply a thin layer, not a thick layer.

Tip: a good tip is to be extra thorough at the "exposed" areas, such as: bottom, sides and possibly. handle.

  1. Let the bag stand and dry for approx. 24 hours.

If there is still excess fat on the bag, take a slightly damp cloth and wipe it off.

  1. Repeat this once a year.

When treating lambskin, give the treatment twice a year.

Buffalo Skin Care

If you have ordered an item in buffalo skin, or if you already have something at home, here is an easy and quick guide to caring for the skin.

Buffalo skins are an incredibly durable material that basically does not need annual care, like cow and calf skins. However, you can still choose to give the leather care, in the form of leather conditioner.

It is important to point out that if you choose to give buffalo skin care, the skin will attract the product and become darker. But this does not damage the skin.

As care and or treatment of this type of skin is not necessary, just use the product. If you experience deep scratches in the skin, you can advantageously give the scratches, a bit, leather conditioner. This means that the scratches are not as obvious. Otherwise, this is a completely natural part of patina.
